Interesting view on the "new materials". High performance glass products are not new. Just new to Australia. It's quite sad that Australia has fallen so far behind the rest of the world in terms of building codes and there are no signs of the gap closing. Research done by RMIT 5 years ago showed that in the US and parts of Europe you were seeing an average of 7.5 star construction (rigt up to 9.5 stars) in housing when Australia was only considering a move to 5 star...
I suspect (but can't confirm!) that the rest of the world has moved even further ahead in the last 5 years.
We need to pick up our game. Our lack of initiative is appalling!
